Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine at UT Health in San Antonio. He completed his fellowship training in Nephrology at UT Health in San Antonio. He specializes in adult kidney transplants and has a special interest in living kidney donation and donor outcomes.

Dr. Patel is currently the medical director for the South RIM Liquivida Wellness Center.
